Experts in Lead Generation and Destination Marketing

Ottawa Tourism

We have been working with Ottawa since May 2013 and have been instrumental in increasing Ottawa’s share of the international association market. Our contract involves regular lead generation identifying association congresses that could be held in Canada, as well as pinpointing the relevant Canadian members who would need to be.

We also regularly secure appointments for sales missions, organising client hospitality functions both in the UK, throughout Europe and in the USA and are instrumental in working as part of Team Ottawa on a daily basis.  We have also been instrumental in organising a flagship event for Ottawa’s top Association prospects which has been held five times over recent years due to its success and substantial return on investment.

Austrian Congress Culture Group

Having worked initially with Salzburg Congress, our contract was expanded to include Messe Congress Graz and Congress Messe Innsbruck who now market themselves collaboratively as the Austrian Congress Culture group (previously Congress Group Austria). Our role provides lead generation and research services, identifying potential International and European Association congresses for each of these Austrian cities including encouraging relevant local/national members to bid to host their Association congress.

The success of each congress centre is obviously a priority for Salzburg, Graz and Innsbruck individually but the group also operates according to the motto “better in Austria than in another country.” Presenting Austria as a congress destination is their primary objective as they feel they are “stronger together” in the competitive world of international conferences. Watterston Associates also works with the group on the organisation of familiarisation trips, European sales missions and securing trade show stand appointments.

The Eastside Rooms

One of Birmingham’s newest purpose-built conference centres.  Watterston Associates is contracted to increase their share of the international and national association market through lead generation and research connecting with local university academics and meeting planners to push through more significant Association conference business.

The venue has revealed a significant increase of 37.5% in association-based event turnover for 2024 compared to 2023 and 2025 is set to surpass this figure.

We work closely with all of our clients as an extension of their team, communicating with them on a daily basis and assisting them in identifying the most appropriate Association congresses that their city could bid to host.  Our work extends to also helping our clients with sales missions and appointments, client hospitality events, trade show support and any other representation services that are required.
